this is an observation, + probs not an original 1, of a cis lesbian but: so much of feminist thought (on lesbianism in particular) is based in a social analysis of sex + encourages self examination of how we’ve been conditioned 2 perceive sex n human bodies + that’s like…accepted that’s a categorically accepted + endorsed feminist discussion. but as soon as a trans lesbian extends it 2 like ‘hey maybe transphobia/cissexism also harmfully influences how we approach sex’ everyone jst performs victimhood + accuses them of being predatory + manipulative + having ulterior motives + its so fucking transparent. acting like challenging the institution of sex is new. how are u gonna reblog audre lorde quotes abt eroticism but then literally compare a trans woman calling out cisnormative attitudes 2wards sex to conversion therapy. its shitty regardless but the element of blatant hypocrisy is like especially astounding
My 7 year old son: So if a boy likes another boy, he’s gay?
Me: Maybe. But it’s not just gay or straight. There’s lots of things a person can be.
My son, nodding wisely: Like Jewish.
